Breathing
- the general public
does not realize how important
proper breathing can be to
your workout. Your muscles
need oxygen to reach maximum
benefit. You can accomplish
this by exhaling when you
are exerting and inhaling
during rest.
Nutrition
-This is
a key component to your progress
and results. If your body
does not get the proper elements
necessary for grow then it
will actually take it from
your own body. Your body is
a survival mechanism and what
it cannot find in your diet
it will find it one way or
another. The only option it
has to survive is to cannibalize
your own body. So if your
body lacks calcium then the
first place it goes to is
the bones. As your muscle
fibers breakdown due to exertion
they require protein to rebuild.
If they do not find it then
they will actually take it
right out of your own muscles.
So not only are you hindering
the grow of your own muscles
but your are harming them.
For months I could not figure
out why I was losing so much
muscle mass. I had gone from
175 lbs. down to 150 lbs.
over a 18 month period. It
is one thing to lose fat but
to lose muscle mass was a
surprise to me. During that
same time frame I was under
an extra high level of stress
which was depleting me of
nutrients. At the same time
I had started to exercise
class a day which of course
I had to exercise during each
one. That good old ego gets
in the way again and it drove
me nuts to what the class
workout without me. Between
the added stress and working
out twice daily, my body began
to cannibalize itself. I have
now began taking a weight
gain drink high in nutrients
and protein and the weight
has begun to come back on
again.
Just goes to show you that
no matter what level you are
at it does not hurt to reevaluate
your routine and diet every
so often. For this reason
we have begun to research
various nutritional product
to make them available to
you. No more having to guess
what are good products and
what are useless.
